Jamaican Charged With Murder Of Honorary British Consul

CaribWorldNews, KINGSTON, Jamaica, Fri. April 23, 2010: A 23-year-old Jamaican national has been charged with the 2009 slaying of a British honorary consul in Jamaica.

Richard Ewan, a security guard from Montego Bay, was charged with the killing of John Terry Thursday.  Terry, 65, was found beaten and strangled in his home in northwestern Jamaica in early September, 2009.

The New Zealand native had lived in Jamaica since 1967 and was honorary consul of Britain for 13 years. He received a Member of the Order of the British Empire award in 1992 from Queen Elizabeth II.
