DR, Haiti Warned To Watch Erika


CaribWorldNews, MIAMI, FL, Thurs. Sept. 3, 2009: The Dominican Republic and Haiti were last night being warned to watch Tropical Strom Erika, which was 70 miles west-southwest of Guadeloupe.

The warning comes as Erika continues moving westward and as a tropical storm warning remains in effect for Dominica, Guadeloupe, St. Martin, St. Barthelemy, Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla, St. Marten, Saba and St. Eustatius.

A tropical storm watch also remained in effect last night for Puerto Rico and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. Erika is expected to produce total rainfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches over much of the Lesser Antilles during the next couple of days with isolated maximum amounts of 6 inches possible over Puerto Rico.
