Father Of Guyanese Actor Dead


CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Thurs. May 14, 2009: Guyanese-born actor, Ron Bobb-Semple and two other siblings are mourning the passing of their father, John Stephen Bobb-Semple.

Bobb-Semple, Sr., passed away on Monday, May 11th in Brooklyn, New York just three weeks short of his 97th  birthday.  He was a former court reporter, journalist, actor, broadcaster and musician who according to the family, `touched the hearts and souls of so many people throughout Guyana, London, North America, and parts beyond.`

He will be laid to rest on Saturday following a funeral service tomorrow, Friday, May 15th from 4 – 5:30 p.m. at the Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, 583 Throop Avenue (between Macon & McDonough), in Brooklyn, New York, 11216.

Bobb-Semple, Sr., is survived by his three children, Keith, Yvette Trotman and Ron Bobb-Semple, who many may know from his portrayal the world over of Marcus Garvey.
